Founding member Joe Femia has over 35 years of experience within construction and development industry and has successfully completed a wide range of projects along the East Coast as a General Contractor. After founding Utica Contracting in 1993, Joe has been responsible for the development and construction of over 9 million square feet of commercial, industrial, institutional and retail projects, ranging in cost from $50,000 to $48,000,000. He currently retains a Class A General Contractor’s license in Virginia, Maryland, District of Columbia, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Georgia, West Virginia South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Florida, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Michigan.
Over the past 35 years, Joe has gained invaluable experience in project design, coordination, and management between clients, Architects and Engineering professionals across multiple industries. In addition to project management, Joe has served as a critical liason between clients and lending institutions ensuring financial securities have been achieved and maintained throughout the development and sale processes.
His foundation of knowledge, cultivated throughout the past 35 years and as CEO of Utica Contracting, brings unparalleled experience to the Kentegra Development Team. From initial design phases to development realization, Joe delivers high quality, commercial industrial real estate assets as evidenced by his successful company track record.
Joe holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management from Utica College of Syracuse University, serves as a Member, Associated Builders and Contractors, and has served on the Board of Directors for the Riverbend Golf and Country Club and Great Falls Little League.
Jeff Johnson is a founding Partner and has over 20 years of experience in commercial real estate development for mission-critical facilities. This experience was derived from working on numerous purpose-built development projects in North America and Europe. His commercial real estate experience includes development planning and project management; formation of legal entities; drafting and finalization of legal agreements; negotiating and securing project financing; phased-construction budgeting and forecasting; site entitlement, project bonding, and bond releases; mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire systems requirements engineering; facility protocol-driven qualification; working with authorities holding jurisdiction to secure temporary and permanent certificates of occupancy; and portfolio management and sales. His commercial real estate development experience also includes development and management of mission-critical facility maintenance programs that include emergency response and disaster recovery team development, scheduled plan testing, and emergency response team management.
As a founding Partner in Kentegra Investments, Jeff seeks to leverage his commercial real estate development experience into building mission-critical facilities that benefit from an uncommon team approach.
Jeff holds a Business Administration degree from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA and has completed professional certificate programs such as Commercial Real Estate Development & Management at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY and Operations Service Excellence at the University of Virginia Darden Graduate School of Business in Charlottesville, VA. He has served in numerous leadership roles in both small, medium, and large companies with responsibilities in the Americas, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. Jeff has executed a purposeful career development plan including relevant experience in business strategy; marketing, sales; operations; information technology; human resources; legal; and finance/accounting functions to effectively provide general management expertise.
Jeff serves on multiple Boards of Directors with expertise in building both the professional organization and the human capital needed to support its growth. He has a proven past performance record for developing world-class organizations that consistently deliver an increase in business value and has been recognized for success in integrating business strategy and execution.
Founding member Sam Busey has extensive experience within the Life Sciences industry, having served as President & CEO of EPL Archives, LLC for over 20 years. His innate ability to develop and deliver both short-term and long-term strategic goals, implement critical business strategies and policies, industry leading knowledge of supporting technology systems, business management and corporate finance strategies, has been paramount throughout the company’s 40+ year history.
Sam has a proven ability to provide critical guidance and strategic leadership required to build successful companies of all sizes. In his leadership roles, Sam’s effective us of organizational resources and industry experience has enabled him to deliver annual revenue growth, profits, and world class performance within the competitive Life Sciences industries. During this time, Sam has architected and lead a senior leadership team who’ve developed and implemented world class operations, industry leading service offerings, and proprietary built and designed enterprise level technology, creating an unparalleled competitive advantage and scalable business strategy.
In addition to serving as President and CEO of EPL Archives, LLC, Sam has acted as the Managing Member or Managing Partner of numerous commercial real estate ventures over the past 19 years. He has been responsible for the successful design and development of an industry leading and nationally recognized portfolio of purpose-built Life Sciences facilities within the Washington D.C. Metro Area.
Sam brings unmatched industry knowledge in both Life Sciences and commercial development to the Kentegra Investments Team. His focus and entrepreneurial drive combine to deliver high quality, commercial industrial real estate assets as evidenced by his successful company track record across multiple projects.
